The Need To Spread True Lymphoma Awareness

Hello to everyone who has stumbled onto this page...

I have had this craving to create this blog for the last year due to what I have experienced and witnessed since the Spring of 2008. My fiance was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma after several months of running around getting tested for everything but the obvious: cancer. After his diagnosis, he was told that "if you have to get any cancer, this is the cancer to get". We were given the impression that treating Hodgkin's Lymphoma was going to be 6 easy months and that we'd be on our merry way with the rest of our lives together. Unfortunately, it was and has been far from this...

I want to help get real awareness out there about this terrible disease. More and more, we see and hear of people being diagnosed with this cancer. It's time that we know the truth behind it and how it's not "the cancer you want to get". Too many young adults are being sold dreams about this disease, and it shouldn't be that way.

This post is just an intro but I do intend to discuss in detail what my fiance and I have gone through the last 2, almost 3 years during his, and our, difficult battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I also will be posting different articles and other interesting material on this cancer. Please spread this among your friends and loved ones who are between the ages of 15-40. We are the age range that is most likely to get this cancer, and we may not even know it.
